[newbie] Modprobe not working
I have 2 PCi cards in my machine and HardDrake says they are there but i cannot get them to modprobe so no NIC and no sound card. I have turned off PnP OS in the bios, i have made sure that they are not in as Legacy ISA cards. Is their somthing missing from my install ?? I installed everything except the languages. Current install is Mandrake 7.2 BTW I had Mandrake 7.0 installed before this and everything worked fine.. I AM LOST :( Abit BE6-11 mobo.. 3.2Gig fujitsu HDD Intel PRO 100B NIC Creative Vibra 128 sound card
[newbie] no PCi cards in Mandrake 7.2
hi i have just installed Mandrake 7.2 but for the life of me i cannot get the NIC(intel PRO100B) or the sound card (creative vibra 128) to work. i can cat /proc/pci and they are listed but when i go in thru hardDrake i cannot modprobe them. I had an earlier version of Mandrake 7.0 up and running fine so i know they work. I have turned off the PnP in the bios and tried again but no luck. system specs are:: P111 733 Abit BE6-11 MOBO 128 Mg RAM fujitsu 3.2 HDD tnt2 Vid card Creative Vibra sound card Intel Pro100B NIC
