Re: [newbie] USR Internal Modem
if you want to put your modem on COM2, make sure the jumper on the modem board is set to COM2, NOT Plug and Play. Consult your manual for the shunts on the jumper... - Original Message - From: Tony Wang [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Saturday, July 10, 1999 3:03 AM Subject: [newbie] USR Internal Modem I have a US Robotics Sportster 56K + Voice internal modem which I cannot get working. It is set up on COM2. It is -not- a Winmodem. I am wondering if anyone has any advice. I have tried addressing it as both cua1 and ttyS1 without any success. Thanks, Tony Wang
[newbie] Slower Modem Speed in Linux
Hi. Just recently installed mandrake 6.0 (workstation) got the kkkp working after resetting the pnp modem's jumper. The modem is on COM2 and using IRQ 3. The problem I have is Netscape is about 3-4 slower that it was in windows. Even file downloading. But the strange thing is that i was connected at the same rate in both windows and linux. Does anyone know what's wrong? Is there a setting I have to change? How do i increase the connection speed. Thank you.
[newbie] Config Internal Modem
Hi All,Could anyone kindly instruct me how i can config internalISA 56k modem card in order to access ISP with PPP. In windows, this modem is on COM2. But kppp always tells me the modem, which is theoretically onCOM2 also, is busy whenever i try to access it. I know for sure no application is using the modem.Or where can I find some info with regards to config internal modem card and get modem drivers? Thanks in advance.
