Re: [newbie] Win2K dual boot?

2000-09-18 Thread Michael Leonard

i've got a tri boot of mandrake 7.1, win2k, and winME..no probs. the only
thing is though, i don't have bootmagic, so the linux grub will boot first
(menu 1) then i select windows and from there i go into win2k or winME (menu
2). that kinda sux cuz the timer is like 3 secs. i don't wanna screw with
the partioning sections manually, so i left it at that, but besides that,
nothing else.

ps- staroffice 5.2 is great at converting office2k files back and forth, you
probably have that with mandrake...get use to using it

Re: [newbie] mouse initialization

2000-09-18 Thread Michael Leonard

i had my touchpad on my laptop go nuts sometimes...i found if you logout of
the session and just restart the xserver, not the whole computer, it'll get
the mouse to work again. that shaves off about a min or so waiting for
computer to boot back up. now, if you get a usb mouse to work with
linux
