[newbie] LS120 Floppy Problems

Could someone help me. I just installed mandrake 7. I
had mandrake 6 before and settin up my floppy drive
was esay. I just modified  fstab, since my floppy was
/dev/hdd and not /dev/fd0, and it worked wonderfully.
I thought the configuration would be easier in
Mandrake 7. I followed all the procedures which I used
in Mandrake 6 and the system will not read my floppy.
When I click on the floppy icon the system hangs.
Could someone tell me how to set up my floppy please.
It is a LS120 floppy. It has a built in controller so
it does not use the floppy controller on the
motherboard.

[newbie] Uninstalling Stuff

Can someone tell me how to uninstall software in
Linux. I have downloaded and installed a few programs
for trial purposes. Now I want to remove them. How
exactly is that done. I am running Mandrake 6.

 If you installed rpm packages, you desinstall it
 with rpm -e.

Dear Mr. Gardener
  Thanks for replying to my mail. I am using a Supra
PCI 56i modem. I didn't get the box for the modem so I
don't know if the modem "requires Windows 95/98/NT".
However, in my system credentials information the
IRQ,Comm Port and Comm Address are OS assigned.Does
that mean that I have a winmodem?

[newbie] Problems with PPP Setup.

I am using Mandrake 6 and  trying to setup ppp to
dial-up my ISP. I tried using the Kppp client, netcfg
and the script method but none of then worked. I do
not know what I am doing wrong. When I use Kppp and
try to connect I get the message "modem is busy".With
netcfg it just does not work and with the script
method I get a message something like "cannot find
parameters","execution of script failed". So I need
someone to outline for me exactly what to do when
setting up ppp.

[newbie] Printing Over a network

Could some one tell me how to configure linux to print
to a printer over a Windows NT network? I tried using
printtool but I am not sure exactly what to do?

[newbie] LS120 MB floppy

I need some help here. Linux will not mount my floppy.
This is a new one . I had 120MB floppy drive  before
and it got damaged, it was working fine before I
stupidly damaged the head. I got a new and installed
it. When linux is booting it seem to recognize the
drive. However, when I put a floppy disk in and try to
mount I get the following error ,

"Could not mount
  Error log:

  mount: block device /dev/fd0 is write-protected,
mounting read-only.
  mount:wrong fs type, bad option , bad superblock on 
 /dev/fd0 or too many mounted file systems"

Could someone help me.

[newbie] Problems

I am running Linux Mandrake 6 and Windows 98 on my
machine. I have not been able to get my sound card to
work, it is a Sound Blaster AudioPCI 64V. During the
installation of linux I tried almost all the sound
card options and I kept getting  errors. So I skipped
that. Also I have a Lexmark 1000 Series color printer.
None of the printer options in mandrake works with
this printer. What should I do? On a more desparate
note I recently installed a 120MB floppy drive in my
machine. It works fine under windows 98, however, it
will not mount under linux. By the way  I bought the
machine with  a 120MB floppy drive but the head got
damaged and I had it replaced. The previous floppy
worked o.k. under linux  so I cannot figure out why
the new one is not working. I would be very grateful
if you could help me on these three issues.
