Yo Bill set printer port to ECP (extended capabilities) ok in bios. all i did to disable it was uninstall the drivers for it and disable it in all hardware profiles. Yeah, i think i have the same problem i can't access my gui (i have lnx4win) all i get is a fatal error no screen found error when i type startx. How do i configure my startx so i can detect my card. At first I thought it was just the Voodoo card that XFdrake refused to look at. Now I know it just not Voodoo3 PCI, it's other PCI card as well if i810 is built into the motherboard. I'm fustrated. lnx4win is a bitch and no one knows how to fix my problem damn mandrake.com's technical support takes for every to answer email. So is suse, red hat , turbo linux go for coexing with windows 98?
[newbie] why cant i boot up in linux? (lnx4win)
I have just installed linux for windows by typing f1 and typing lnx4win. After installation the boot screen comes up with these listings (1)linux (2) linux- nonfb (3) failsafe (4) windows and (5) floopy. If select linux it just show a blank screen. Any solutions? Also what's this: Kernel (hd0,0)/lnx4win/boot/linuz-2.2.17-21mdr root = 707 m initrd (hd0,0)/lnx4win/boot/intitrd-2.2.17.21mdr.img when i turn my comp on it says grub operating sys chooser or something then i type e when the (1) linux is selected and the commands above show up.
