However it is still in Alpha stage yet...

kfm does a very decent job on most sites, though java is a problem.

Well, there is the one called Opera for linux and Mozilla
I'm sure there are others, but they are not to up to date with how the web is...

http://www.webreview.com/pub/2000/02/04/feature/index4.html will give you 21
different browsers to choose from (some being text only though).

However the main Netscape alternative is Mozilla. You can download it from
http://mozilla.org It's an open source Netscape, and pretty good. It's still in
development though, so it is sorta buggy. But hopefully it'll continue to
improve, and can eventually replace Netscape for the desktop.
