[newbie] external hardware mouse

2005-02-20 Thread Rosemary McGillicuddy
Hi All

I've noticed that since using external hardware mouse in Mandrake 10.1 that I
don't have a problem with disconnections from server all the time, or
difficulty logging on in the first place, which was happening frequently
before. I don't know whether it is being in linux, the modem, or a
combination! It's very nice though

Rosemary

If you mean external modem(which I think you do).
External modems(hardware) Linux does prefer :-)

Good because I haven't seen a hardware mouse (bus mouse) since DOS days

[newbie] External Hardware

2001-06-21 Thread Adams, Jamie

Dear List,

My only computer is a Toshiba Laptop, I dont really have any intention
of buying a desktop system, yet I feel the need to upgrade my hardrive
(4.3gig). The least expensive way of me doing this is to buy an external
one, but are these supported by Linux? I think they come in USB and
Parallel versions.

I would also like to consider an external writer.

Any comments would be appreciated, has anyone had any success stories
with any particular brand?

Much appreciated, cheers..
