[newbie] How do I make the K button work????????

I can't make the K button work for the menu thing.

How do I enable this button??

You know, the 'windows' button but instead it brings up the
K menu

If your K button is not working, then something in KDE (perhaps kpanel?) 
is broken. The thing should work immediately, without any setup.
