so after the informal introduction (and me getting utterly ticked off doing an install). Hi. I'm Mike, and i'm a new linux user. HI MIKE I'd tell you what i do for a living, but i really don't do anything. lost my job in January to a back injury and havn't worked since. After getting a nice tax return (EIC really pays out when you have children), i got a good friend of mine to build me a PC to replace my outdated Vaio laptop, and upgraded to cable all at the same time. When all you can do is sit at home all day and take care of 2 kids, it's nice to have a decent computer and a screaming fast connection. anyway not being a lazy bum forever. I'm enrolled at Bloomsburg University (which is in central PA) for the fall semester. finally getting back in school after 4 years in the military and a few years supporting a family. can't wait! was told about linux by my friend that built up my computer, and decided to finally check it out, as it was either try linux or get him to hack me a copy of XP. i decided to take the legal approach to an OS, and i'm sick of using win98se. so just a little FYI for everyone so you know who you're dealing with!
