[newbie] Installing additional components after installation

I'm more familiar with SuSE, which uses YAST/2 for a setup tool. With it I 
can check what programs are installed, do a search of other packages to 
install, and install something off of a CD.

What is the standard tool for this in Mandrake? RPM?

   You can use RPMDrake.
This will list all the programs available including those on CDs 3and 4.
It will tell you which are installed and allow you to install any additional
you choose as long as you have the proper CD which it will request.
