So I did.
The only change I saw is that my mouse stopped working...)-:

Using the older mm kernel; I don't have a unlimited broadband internet
connection but a GPRS over a cellfone. (That's expensive.)-: )
And that would probably give me a problem with my Nvidia drivers...

But;
I saw in /etc/udev/scripts a script called dvb.sh.
I executed that script, but nothing happened.
Anybody knows where that script is for??

[newbie] Lost DVB interface

2005-01-14 Thread Gerard van Winssen
Hi there,

After I went from 10.0 to 10.1 my /dev/dvb/adapter0 entry is gone.
I can load the modules skystar2 and stv0299.
My DVB-S card is a Technisat Skystar 2 PCI.
Without that interface adapter0 I cannot watch tv in Xine for example.
What I found with google is way beyond my skills, can anyone point out what to
do??

TIA,

Gerard

It may be because of the switch from devfs to udev in 10.1

Check your MandrakeControLCentreSystemServices to see which is running and
try enabling the other instead. (Only 1 of them may be active)
You may need to install one or the other according to how you did your
upgrade.

You have to use the 2.6.7-1-7multimedia Kernel from Contrib! Only that
one contains a udev compatible CVS driver!
