[newbie] My logging has stopped!

1999-09-18 Thread Eric L. Damron

What do I need to do to setup system logging again? (/var/log/secure,
xferlog, etc)

Can anyone tell me all of the steps I need to take to implement system
logging as if I were implementing it for the first time.

Thanks.

How did you get it to stop???
You probably killed your syslogd...

I guess /sbin/reboot is the best answer to your question...
/usr/sbin/syslogd might do.

A little harsh don't you think? /etc/rc.d/init.d/syslog start should
get it working again.
