[newbie] Port Forwarding In 9.0
Hey everyone - I was wondering if there is an easy and simple way of port forwarding in 9.0 I am attempting to use ipmasqadm to forward port 4661 to a machine behind my firewall using this command : /usr/sbin/ipmasqadm autofw -A -r tcp 4661 4661 -h 10.0.0.2 However I get the following error : autofw: setsockopt failed: Protocol not available Is there an easy way around this without say a kernel recompile? (I've had a lot of bad luck with kernel recompiles) Thanks everyone Jesse "G-Tez" HoustonSoftimage XSI 201 Certified InstructorPhone: +1 604 657 5949Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED]SMS: [EMAIL PROTECTED]Web: http://www.gtez.com/
[newbie] port forwarding
Hi All I'm going to down my old 6.1 linux mandrake box but as i'm using this box for ( MAIL and web site ) i need to make sure my new box is up and running, if i can i wound like to forward all web packs from box 1 to 2, 1 by 1 to my new box if someone knows how :-> Thanks Michael FalzonGremlin Consultancy P/L405 Francis StreetBrooklyn, Vic Australia 3025Ph: 61+ 393153855Fax: 61+393151585mobile: 0419235363Registered Linux user #204397
[newbie] Port Forwarding
Hey All I want to port forward a port. I current use iptables with the following chains. OPEN FTP PORTS AND FORWARD $IPT -A INPUT -p tcp --destination-port 123 -j ACCEPT $IPT -A PREROUTING -t nat -p tcp -d $EXTERNALIP --dport 123 -j DNAT --to $FTPMACHINE $IPT -A PREROUTING -t nat -p tcp -d $INTERNALIP --dport 123 -j DNAT --to $FTPMACHINE Bastically, I am forwarding port 123 to the internal address with an ftp server ($FTPMACHINE). The problem is that if someone behind a firewall attemps to login the ftp, they can not see the directory list even with PASV enabled. My understanding is that to machines behind two different firewalls cannot talk to each (ie ftpclient cannot talk to ftp server is they are behind two different firewalls) Is there anyway to bypass my firewall and send all data on port 123 to $FTPMACHINE? RE: [newbie] Port forwarding
I don't know about SNF,, but I use IPMASQADM, on my 7.2 box's and it works just fine... I got the latest src rpm that I could find on rpmfind.net and rebuilt it for our boxes (it wasn't a mandrake rpm) it has been working flawlessly ever since... give it a shot.. rgds Frank -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Paul Sent: Wednesday, 1 August 2001 5:40 PM To: Lanman; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [newbie] Port forwarding > Can anyone shed a little light on how to configure port-forwarding or port > redirection from a Mandrake 7.2 SNF firewall to a mandrake 8.0 web-server? [newbie] Port forwarding
Can anyone shed a little light on how to configure port-forwarding or port redirection from a Mandrake 7.2 SNF firewall to a mandrake 8.0 web-server? I realize that SNF has it's own web-server built-in, but this is for a special configuration. Examples would be very helpful. Mostly, I can't figure out which package/utility to use. TIA
[newbie] Port forwarding...
Hi all, I have a rather perplexing problem,, I have a server on a static IP DSL conection, this machine is among other things a primary domain server... We have a number of servers running behind this machine, all on private IP's (ie 192.168.0.5) I need to have two way comunication between ports on the internal machine, and the outside gateway The internal machines are running all sorts of different operating systems, from Win2000 server to win95, and linux. The gateway machine is running 7.2 with EVERY patch loaded, including the 2.2.19-4 kernel. Anyway I have searched the internet left right and center,, and found hundreds of pages about port forwarding. and thats the problem,,, There are hundreds of methods available and all sorts of different kernels,, (in fact most of the pages I saw required patches to 2.0 kernels... So at the end of it all, I am left wandering what is the newest fastest method of doing this Mandrake is no help, and the only reference I could find on thier site, was about packages. which was less then useless... Assuming I have Mandrake 7.2, and kernel 2.2.19 What is the easiest way I can have several ports on internal servers transparently communicating 2way through the gateway machine. like Http, SSL, smtp, ssh, and some ports specifically for special servelets and stuff... No machine on the entire network has less then 64 mb of ram, and a 233mmx cpu so horsepower is not really an issue, since most of the machines, have at least a pIII 450, and most are 600 or more. The gateway machine has two network cards, one to the dsl connection and the other to the internal network. I am more confused now then I was when I started looking into this Can anyone help. regards Frank
[newbie] port forwarding of a range of ports
While there is lots of documentation on using ipchains and ipmasqadm to forward ports, nothing I can find can allow you to assign a large range (i.e. udp 1024 to 65535 for netmeeting). Does anyone know how to beat this other than making entries for each port? thanks in advance *** Cam Grant, M.Sc. P.Eng. VE3CA, President Grant Systems Engineering Inc. [newbie] Port forwarding setup
Hi All, Ok, I've got masquerading working and can browse the web. I want to be able to access a ftp server on my private network from the internet. I believe it will require some sort of port forwarding to make it work. I gather that IPMASQADM is the recommended way to do this. Where do I get this software and how do you go about setting it up to work under MD 6.0. I'm currently running kernel 2.2.9.
