[newbie] samba network on linux
After reïnstallling my linux network many times, suddenly the Linux computer is visible on the Windows machine. The linux machine does not see anything. I normally have my samba network configured as a workgroup I was thinking of switching it over to a domain server possible dhcp server. I was just wondering what it entails to do this chore. Doesn't it act as an additional server in the domain? Adding DHCP would be separate from changing the workgroup/domain configuration, yes? DHCP is quite easy to configure if you have only one subnet to address. I usually allocate a portion of the addresses for DHCP and some for static IP for printers, servers, etc...
