Since I have no uninstall, I should be able to delete it and reinstall?

Yes, that would be a good idea. That way you can make it accessible to
 everyone.
That is how I do it. That way I can use it, my alter ego can, and all the
split personalities that want to, also. ;)

Hi Paul,

I think the original install was in /root/local/Realplayer7
Since I have no uninstall, I should be able to delete it and reinstall?

 Hi Roman,

I have installed it too. It is in /usr/X11R6/bin/realplay as a Symlink.
The program should be executable as user (I did not change anything
here) as long as the directory is in your path...

I downloaded the .bin format of Realplayer and I was actually able to
add the icon to my taskbar.
Since it was installed in root, I would like to have full access to this
 in /home/roman

 Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure if the command was completely correct. While in root, I
typed: chown roman.roman /usr/X11R6/bin/Realplayer7

I then logged out of root and back to user. I found RealPlayer 7.
Then, I went back in and edited the RealPlayer rp7.xpm icon file. Saved
it in /usr/shared/icons... And, voila and icon for my KDE panel.
