Re: [newbie] Web mail server.
Please do not use Linuxconf to admin sendmail. Do you know how many undocumented executables there are in linuxconf? It admins sendmail in very nonstandard ways. And you will not know anything about really working with sendmail.. http://www.moongroup.com/mailhelp.phtml Also, Postfix is faster, more secure, and easier to admin. Re: [newbie] Web mail server.
Sorry mike, pardon my ignorance, but send mail will allow for a Web based mail system like hotmail/yahoo mail-ish type of thingy? if so XCELNT or if anyone else has an easy and secure solution. I am still open to offers... and thanks for the quick reply, I have noticed people complaining about the speed of messages, but mine went up very quickly (prob within 10-20mins...) Re: [newbie] Web mail server.
Is sendmail a "webmail server program"? If so, My vote goes to Postfix. Faster and more secure than sendmail, and much easier to configure. For good help try this. http://www.moongroup.com/mailhelp.phtml Melissa and Michael Grover wrote: I use Sendmail, It is a bit tricky to setup, But it works well.. mike... Re: [newbie] Web mail server.
Hi -- If you're willing to pay for a commercial server, try DMail for Linux. You can get it at www.netwinsite.com. We've used it for some time, and have found it quite stable. --Original Message Text--- From: Brian Date: Tue, 20 Jun 2000 14:20:58 +1000 Hey guys, I usually sit back and watch the proceedings here, but I am after a "SECURE" webmail server program to run under Linux, I have previously looked at NT mail servers and shuddered Any help appreciated...
