so it seems :-)

>From the man page
reget remote-file [local-file]
Reget acts like get, except that if local-file exists and
is smaller than remote-file, local-file
is presumed to be a partially transferred copy of
remote-file and the transfer is continued from the
apparent point of failure. This command is useful
when transferring very large files over networks
that are prone to dropping connections.

I don't know how to see the status of a transfer but the
option hash might help

Good luck,

I am using:

ftp-client-krb5-1.2.2-11mdk

which is the standard one that was installed with
mandrake.

You are not saying which client you are using, personally I prefer ncftp
for the command line and occasionally gftp for Gnome. Ncftp has well
written man pages and help files.

hope this helps,

[newbie] ftp resume

2002-02-11 Thread shanon loveridge

I was wondering how I can resume a download using ftp?
Also how do you display the download status?

It does this automatically in FreeBSD so I was
surprised that it didn't do it in linux.
