[newbie] hardware on linux
I have been reading lots of post on here about hardware problems with the linux. Well, I installed mandrake's powerpack 7 or mandrake 7.0 and never had a problem with a thing... My guess is that some have not bothered to see if they had hardware supported by linux... Don't get me wrong or flame me, but most think they can just install linux and will run like windows. WRONG! , I had looked up to see if my hardware was supported by linux when I first started... I got all the hardware I needed to run linux , then once II put them in place, I installed windows without a hitch.. now this was the computer I was once running windows on... I have injoyed linux since as I had no hassle with hardware confilcts... anyone can look up the hardware supported by linux by reading the how-to on hardware or go to the http://www.linux-mandrake.com and click the link for the supported hardware page and take a look at the list... I'm just letting the newbies know how to find out what linux supports for hardware...
