Hmm. Maybe I'll follow my own advice and try a srpm for this cooker box

supermount, as every time I insert a blank CD for burning, it's chatter
chatter chatter and burp and up pops k3B. Try to do anything with it -
like open a new audio project - blam, drkonqi crash. Then I get to go
to a root console and do cdrecord, which is what I wanted to do in the
first place.

On the positive side, I burned 2 cds at 32x speed with -dev ATA
yesterday. I had to wash them off, cause they were Staind. (grin)

David E. Fox did divulge:
It very well may be, but that's not the problem. The problem is that
it's an alpha RPM; not alpha in the sense of testing, but alpha in the
sense of a vastly underrated and underused microprocessor that you might
not have. In short, it's not an intel :).

You might wait for Charles to update his rpms and use his site. I've had
some success with his packages when others would not function (new gimp
comes to mind). If you have trouble using the binary RPMs, you might
elect to download the source rpms and do an rpm --rebuild -- for the
latest gimp, that was what I had to do.

I managed to get k3b .11 installed just fine on 9.2,
but for the life of me cannot remember where I got the

was k3b-0.11-db.

Also, there is an rpm for k3b available here:

I haven't tested it, but chances are it should work.

If using a gui I, myself, prefer either x-cd-roast or eroaster.

Thanks Charles, and Bryan,
I appreciate your help/advice. I will perhaps do a

I will get your rebuilt for 9.2 package Charles,

Will you also have to do the libk3b1 package?

Thanks again guys. Best regards.

You might want to try the 9.1 package at

and see if it works better for you.
