I just built 0.9.0claws. In 0.8.11claws, I could click a message to read it and hit the delete key to delete it and it would automatically open the next message. It doesn't do that anymore, I have to click or hit enter or the space bar for it to open the next message. Mine does that by default too - so its not a problem with your setup. I'll ask the sylpheed-claws list if there is a setting to change it. This is strange: mine did that for awhile, then went back to the normal way: showing the next message...
