[newbie] permission denied
The other night I got help on here trying to connect the internet in konsole when I type su ,ask password (give it ) root comes up give command /etc/resolv.conf ; permission denied. Is this te firewall? are root asignment problem?

Actually, you do not need to be root to read resolv.conf (I can read it just fine as a normal user), you need to be root in order to make changes to it. Actually, whether you can even read the file as a user depends on the security level, but more than likely you'll be able to read it. [newbie] Permission Denied -/etc/services.../etc.resolv.conf ??
I try accessing these services and I was presented with the following error, "permission Denied'. Why I am not permitted to access these services in root? Thanks Guys!
