Browse in a Filemanager to /root, then I believe /mnt, then the windows
drive letter *mine are kind of mixed up*.

Do same thing from a command line.

There have been tons of threads on this lately, just look at the
 archives for this list.

you could run max in vmware, but seriously, who would want to - dual
boot and replace your windows shell with max :)

Um You can boot directly into a program like Max???

Can you do it with Lightwave7?

Wow! Could you set up a multiple boot system with Lightwave7, Painter7
and
  Linux?

  That would be tres cool!

Actually... a question How does an individual get access to their
other
HD partitions (ie Windows and previously saved files ... I have MP3's I
want
to access in another partition on my drive) from the Command Line?

[newbie] programs running on wine

2002-03-10 Thread Stojs

I have now decided to have a go with linux. Not all the way since I
would not trust it to run 3ds max like I would like it to. I bought the
mandrake 8.1 power pack.

Is there a list anywhere of windows programs tested running wine
successfully (and not successfully)?

Wine (in a nutshell)
1. Your mileage will vary
2. Don't hold your breath
3. (see 1 2)

www.codeweavers.com - there is a wine applications database somewhere on
that site

for the record, i have got it running Textpad, WinZip, WinRar,
Rhinoceros 1.1 (yay!!) and .. um ... notepad

you could run max in vmware, but seriously, who would want to - dual
boot and replace your windows shell with max :)

Assuming your install went normally,

 cd /mnt/win_c

or whatever name you have Windows mounted under (do ls /mnt to check).
