RE: [newbie] xmess

2001-03-11 Thread Paul Rodríguez

Thank you so much! This was wonderful! I played some of my favorite old
games! It's amazing how much this resembles the origical machine. One
question though, how do you control the games? I've been having a hard time
controling the games (without a joystick). I read the documentation, but
couldn't find any instructions. Is it different for every game?

Also, do you use this for anything other than games?
I'd love any tips you've accumulated.

Thanks, Gerry!

Has anybody had any luck using (non-windows) emulators
such as xmess (included on LM 7.2) to work? I was
excited to play some of my old Commador64 and atari
games, but don't really know how to get started.

For Commodore 64 you should use The VICE, which gives 99,99% accurate
emulation.. The VICE is a system-independent emulator system that also
emulates Vic20, C128, PET and CBM-II :)

You can get it at http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~dsladic/vice/vice.html

After installing it, the c64-part is called "x64". Just run that one, and
you're off :) .. btw, you need to have some disk images as well if you want
to play anything.. www.c64.com has thousands of c64-games just waiting to be
downloaded!

(i really love that old machine :)
