When I choose the .ifo-file an OK,
the program crashes with the following info:

What can be wrong? Is there any specific hardware
that is needed for this program to work?
I am trying this on my HP Omnibook 4150 with it's
original DVD-player.

It's probably a problem with playing that particular file. I've found that
Xmovie will crash on some files for no apparent reason. Try using another player
like mplayer or xine.
