RE: [newbie] Sound Card Config
On a side note: could you try to post in text instead of html? I have a hard time reading the post. Have you tried running sndconfig in a console? --- Original Message --- "Krulo" [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wrote on Sat, 11 Nov 2000 22:10:22 - -- This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --=_NextPart_000_0013_01C04C2C.2FBA89C0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable what tool/s can i use to get my OPTI 82C924 sound card to tell me something? thx --=_NextPart_000_0013_01C04C2C.2FBA89C0 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable !DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN" HTMLHEAD META http-equiv=3DContent-Type content=3D"text/html; charset=3Diso-8859-1" META content=3D"MSHTML 5.50.4134.600" name=3DGENERATOR STYLE/STYLE /HEAD BODY bgColor=3D#ff DIVFONT size=3D2what tool/s can i use to get my OPTI 82C924 sound card = to tell=20 me something?/FONT/DIV DIVFONT size=3D2/FONT /DIV DIVFONT size=3D2/FONT /DIV DIVFONT size=3D2/FONT /DIV DIVFONT size=3D2thx/FONT/DIV/BODY/HTML --=_NextPart_000_0013_01C04C2C.2FBA89C0-- - Sent using MailStart.com ( http://MailStart.Com/welcome.html ) The FREE way to access your mailbox via any web browser, anywhere!

Have you tryed with sndconfig from shell's prompt. It's a Red Hat's SW but I think it's installed in Mandrake 7.0. I've got this sound card and I'd got this problem with RH 6.1 , but the messages said thas was a problem because the IRQ was busy. I've changed to Mandrake 7.0 and the sound card works perfect.

Have you tried sndconfig? Lothar does not do a very good job with that card; in fact, I've gone through 3 installs and still haven't gotten midi to work. Carl Kehley I tried sndconfig and it says that my sound card is not suported in linux but it does find it
