I do not know what it stands for more then that % stands for opening
in the background.

Regarding Opera, do you have it installed on your system?

Have you tried man opera? Not trying to be a jack ass but the man pages
usually have the info on the CLI switches.

Yep generaly after I finish a mandrake install the first thing I do is
install opera. I have been a opera user a lot longer than I have been a
linux user and old habits are sometimes hard to break.
I will try adding the -n '%s and see what happens.

I use both claws and opera and configured claws to use opera with:
 opera -newwindow '%s'

But whichever you use you Need the single quotes on both ends of %s

Under configuration/common preferences/other you'll find a few options.

Your cursor doesn't change when hovering over a link but if you
double-click it will work!

As Netscape seems to be the default handler for that it might
need to be changed if Netscape is not installed.

I found that the default setting on mine (which was something like mozilla -remote
'openURL(%s,new window)' ) didn't work but if i just changed it to mozilla %s it did.
and yes, the cursor doesn't change but if you dbl click it will open.
