You use your's for carpet fuzz?? I use mine for pest control - spiders,
mice, cats, small dogs and children. I even used mine for an Ex-wife
(told her she had to actually use one) EVIL GRIN.

I have a fairly simple question. I'm very new to linux, mandrake being my

purchasing Linux for Dummies tomorrow but what else might be of assistance.

I've found Running Linux - 3rd Edition, Linux in a Nutshell - 2nd Edition,
Linux Network Administrators Guide by O'Reilly to be pretty good however I
would stay away from Linux in a Nutshell for a while - VERY in-depth but
generally way over my head for a newbie/novice. There is another book out
there but the name escapes me at the present but it is a great general linux
how-to book, it's about 3 inches thick by 5 in. by 7 in. with an reddish/orange
cover and runs about $13-U.S. It seems to be merly a reprint of most of the
"net published" linux how-to's (or a redirect thereof) but it does a wonderful
job of cross indexing topics and subjects.

Good luck,

I found 'Running Linux' by Welsh et al. quite a good help. Have a look at

http://www.mandrakeuser.org/resource/reslinux.html

for more.

I'm no expert, but I learn alot from the HOW-TO's for linux...
and other linux info I can find on the web sites also...

I've been fortunate enough to work with someone I will, for the time being,
dub a linux guru, and he recommended three books from O'Reilly and
Associates:

Running Linux - 3rd Edition
Linux in a Nutshell - 2nd Edition
Linux Network Administrators Guide - Mostly for when you get around to
having to support it in a production environment if you do that sort of
thing for work.

I have found all of them to be excellent. Some of the info is a little
dated, and they don't pertain to any specific distro, but they are filled
with great information.

I got them at www.fatbrain.com

Not too expensive either...I think I got all three for about $30.00...
