for everything else... there is this NEWBIE LIST  ;)

okay lets make this a true low_noise_mailing list 
Can anybody add to/ modify this scrip to make it usefull for /home directory 
backing ? As jon judt warned us against using it for this specific purpos ?

i may be wrong, but isn't the only reason not to use it for that purpose 
that it would backup itself?

if so, simply backup to another folder/partition/whatever.  /backup to an 
old harddrive is my own solution.

boy do i feel sheepish.

if you are running 8.2 try running drakbackup from command line.   sheesh.  
darn easy to use mandrake distro.  i am changing to slackware.
