Sorry, Sir IE5 is for win98 and not for Linux and Ie5 easy to accept
virus to invade win98 system so IE5 are not welcome for linux.

Why would anybody ever put a M$ product on an OS like Linux? Why not just
use W98 or something that is designed not to operate so well.
What could IE5 make so much easier that you need to have that?

If you want IE5 go to winblows. I don't think MS has a IE5 release for
linux. AND I hope the never do.

Hi

Knew here myself - still waiting for my Mandrake Powerpack to be delivered,
but watching all the postings gives me some idea what problems to expect -
nothing much I hope.

In actual fact your not asking such a stupid question, because rumour has it
that the version of IE for Unix was created under Linux. Somewhere in a big
vault in Redmond there is some code marked "Do Not Touch - Only Meant For
Use Under a Proper Operating System". Rumour also has it - not sure how true
the rumours are but - MS employ a few programmers who work on Linux all day
long. If they exist then it should be fairly easy to spot them, because they
wouldn't spend most of the day looking at the BSofD and are 100% productive.

Rumour also says that BG banished the code, rejecting point blank any idea
of releasing IE on a decent platform that gave software away for free -
yikes - what a awful idea that is.

If you're serious, there is no Internet Exploder for Linux. There
is a version for some flavors of UNIX, but none for Linux.

No such animal. I like IE 5 also, but if the only way to use it is by going
back to windows, I'll stick with Netscape. I'm beginning to get used to it,
although I miss IE's ability to disappear and leave you with "nothing but
page". Opera 3.6 can do that also and it's almost ready for linux. I doubt
IE will be anytime soon.
