yankl disseminated the following:
I am unable to ssh to a Mandrake 10 pc with my non-root accounts. They
are nis accounts. I can login locally with the nis accounts. Any
Ideas.

I am assuming that you check hosts and have sshd all entry.
sigh
In something resembling an understandable answer, that would be:
Look in /etc/hosts.allow. Depending on your security level on the MDK 10 PC
(sounds like it's something above 'standard'), you have to add entries to this
config file defining which hosts are allowed to connect.
The fact that they are NIS accounts, and that you can connect as root, though,
leads me to think this has nothing to do with /etc/hosts.allow. Did some quick
Googling (google.ca/linux is your friend!) and found a lot of results.
search with these terms, and you will see what I mean:
'unable to login with NIS accounts'
