i think you can try

        # slocate -uv

man locate tells you that that will create a new database from /
as well as other options available.

or you may want to check out the options in /etc/updatedb.conf
and use
        #slocate -cv

if all else fails, try deleting your current db file,
probably at 
        /var/lib/slocate/slocate.db
and re-creating your db.
