Joel, we need more info... what size and brand hard drive. what program did
you use to set up the hard drive (did you use ez drive or disk manager to get
a larger hard recognized) did you setup the drives as ext2 or reiser? did you
do an axpert or recomended install?

I have two operating systems Linux Mandrake 8.0 and Windows ME and i have

had this happen to them could i get a shout out on how to get LM running
 again.

Windows Me works fine and it has the first partition on my hard drive and i
used the wizard in the linux mandrake setup to auto allocate the linux
partition. When I tried to reinstall linux it read no partitions on the
hard drive and told me to continue at your own risk.

And whenever i try to start linux up i get

Kernel Panic:VFS:Unable to mount root fs on 03:05

 any help

I tried a ME/Mdk7.2 dual boot. It gave me so much trouble, to install
and to run after installation. I gave up and went back to Win 98. I
didn't get that particular message, but I got a bunch of unexplained
crashes.
