I finally got it sorted out (after doing some poking around); there was
a line in the /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file that I didn't muck with -
ZAxismapping 6 7 was supposed to be ZAxismapping 4 5 - that
resolved the issue FINALLY (I was getting a bit peaved that I lost the
functionality of using the mouse-wheel to shade/unshade windows - which
might sound silly to some, but was important to me)

Next on the list - migrate all the smb configurations, then the users,
then the mail...then me...

A recent study has found that concentrating on difficult off-screen
objects, such as the faces of loved ones, causes eye strain in computer
scientists. Researchers into the phenomenon cite the added concentration
needed to make sense of such unnatural three dimensional objects.

I know ya already got it sorted, but there be a way, oft discussed on this list
in the past, to have all the buttons working on your Intellimouse ('bout the
only thing MS makes that isn't shit):

http://www.deadman.org/X/xbuttons.html

Then you can use the side buttons for...stuff.

Link was working as of...now, but this guy's site seems to flake out on

OH; the plague of the universal /dev/mouse

I am assuming that this is a ps2 mouse.
In XF86Config-4 change the the device to /dev/psaux and restart the X
server.

I have not experienced this in 10.0 but am having to do so with cooker
to enable expected operation of the wheel with Logitech MX700
