Re: [newbie] What software is used to burn, or extract the content of, .bin/.cue files

You can't reply to any list by just changing the subject line an start typin. Well you can, but many will ignore you. You've butted into an existing thread. Try again with your own original post. Use a brief subject line, and then be as verbose as you may, including details of what you want, what you're workin with, what you've tried. If someone has an idea about it, they'll most likely answer. .bin (binary) files are usually run from the CL with 'sh file.bin'. Sometimes you may need to convert them to executable first 'chmod +x file.bin'. You might wanna ask around about just what binary file you're fixin to try tho first, an just what it might do. 'ark' will extract files, from an archive. A .bin is not an archive. If you just wanna burn 'em to CD, that's another question. You'll get many answers from ex-Windoze users strugglin to do it with their favored Linux GUI app. On the CL it takes but typin 4 or 5 letters (your choice), after a touch of homework. -- Tom Brinkman Corpus Christi, Texas Want to buy your Pack or Services from MandrakeSoft? Arson, K3b, KOvenbake, ERoater simplecdrx-1.3.1-1mdk Yeah, I know I go on about how much quicker an' easier CD burnin is from the CL But I keep an open mind, don't we all? ; I urpmi'd this one an' it auto setup on install, found all my drives, ready to go, audio, data, or iso's. I was surprised !! Y'all might wanna look at it, try it out. Stephen's right tho, Arson was the latest darling (specially over k3b which IMO is fatally flawed, wouldn't go near it). I haven't used simplecdrx yet, tho I burned several CD's todays usin 'bdcd' and 'bacd' on the CL. Doesn't get any simpler or better than that ;p -- Tom Brinkman Corpus Christi, Texas Want to buy your Pack or Services from MandrakeSoft? Go to http://www.mandrakestore.com
