[Nighthawk Lovers] Re: Pigeon!

2011-07-25 Thread Mike21222
Pat,
If your keyboard is less than 3 years old, more than likely it can be
washed. Flip it over, remove the screws, there's like 10 or 12 or
something like that, keep in mind where the screws came from
especially if some are longer than others. Flip it right side, now
very carefully remove the top of the keyboard, it may snap apart with
a little elbow grease, if it does not come apart easily, look for
another screw you may have missed one. Now if yours is like most, the
keys area and the electronics are separated by a soft gel type
material. Take this out, wash it gently with soap / water. there
should be no dirt, or liquids below this area. More than likely its
all in the top where the keys are, or directly on the gelpad. You can
actually put the top / keys area in the dishwasher, I have done it a
number of times with my HP keyboards. It takes about 3 minutes to
disassemble and another 5 to clean it. Good Luck
Mike

[Nighthawk Lovers] Re: NGK Spark Plugs - OEM/Standard vs. Iridium

2011-07-25 Thread surfswab
I've read up on 'em some and concluded the only real advantage -- to
justify 4X the cost -- is if they last 4X longer...something you can't
really know without buying, installing and testing them.

The spark plug improvement thing, from fancy gap configurations and
standard to platinum and now iridium tips, strikes me as similar to
the marketing of razor blades.

The old-school Gillette safety razor gave as close a shave as the
latest whiz-bang multi-bladers. But each new "technological
development" claims a revolutionary shaving experience.

All that's really changed is the price of the blades.

Graham -

I love my NH - it's the perfect bike for me. I'm not a 'boy-racer'
nor a laid-back cruiser, so the 750 is fast enough and can keep-up
with the traffic on California's crazy freeways. It's good-enough at
everything I need, and generally won't get me into trouble either.
