[Ninux-day] Ubiquiti M2, M5 and ad-hoc

2011-01-14 Thread Mitar
Hi!

Have anybody tested Ubiquiti M2 or M5 units (like bullets or loco) with
ad-hoc? Does it work?

Does even maybe work ad-hoc and AP at the same time?

So we are thinking of using M2 units in ad-hoc mode and M5 for
point-to-point backbone links.

In the Ninux network we have some links with AirOS with Olsr [0] in
Infrastructure mode because it doesn't work in AdHoc mode.
If you install OpenWRT you can use the M5 in Ad hoc mode.

Hi Mitar,

we are using NanoStation M5 and they are working good in ad-hoc.

We are also using this patch:

With OpenWrt/ath9k or with AirOS/closed source drivers?

Hm. But how does that work? I thought that there is not ad-hoc in N
standard? So this is G ad-hoc just on 5 GHz (or A ad-hoc)?
