It seem to be fairly new and might not be documented yet. See

Ouch, obviously I meant "it should be the opposite of".

[Nix-dev] "allowSubstitutes" option

2015-08-01 Thread Nikolay Amiantov
Hi all,

There is "allowSubstitutes" option which is set for "writeTextFile"
derivation and couple of other places. I can't find any documentation on
it; from its name it should be similar to "preferLocalBuild". What are
the differences?

Re: [Nix-dev] nixos.org/wiki password reset does not work

2015-08-01 Thread Rabbe Fogelholm
I have a problem that may be related. I created a wiki account yesterday; all
went fine
except I can't get my mail address confirmed. When I try I get this diagnostic:

Nix Wiki could not send your confirmation mail. Please check your email
address for invalid characters.
Mailer returned: Unknown error in PHP's mail() function.

My mail address doesn't have any fancy characters as you can see. Could it be
that
mail notifications and feedback from the wiki does not work at all?

I think its overloaded since around Thursday afternoon. On IRC the suspicion
was that the frontend machine needs some kicking. I don’t know who’s
responsible - I guess someone does, though. :)

[Nix-dev] Hydra seems to be down

2015-08-01 Thread Profpatsch
I’m not sure if this is the best place, but:

hydra.nixos.org is not responding to requests.
http://isitup.org/hydra.nixos.org
This service confirms that it’s not just my local network.

It works very seldomly, sometimes after 15 minutes,
so it looks more like an overload problem.
