The article has a summary of instructions I've seen elsewhere online, FreeTDS with DBD::Sybase version, which is the most recommended that I've seen. I've tried compiling DBD::Sybase (and I did read about compiling it to use FreeTDS), but make gives lots of errors. make install says it won't without force... I'm not sure, but I think it's something with ActivePerl. They don't have a DBD::Sybase module for download via ppm. If it's a module that would be fairly popular, normally this means it isn't possible, or at least major modification may be required. If it's esoteric, maybe there just isn't enough demand to have it pre-compiled. I didn't try hard to see what the problems compiling DBD::Sybase were, but it may be a no-go with ActivePerl. [nlug] OT: Dell Mini windows restore?
Does anyone have a windows restore disk for a Dell Mini palm/laptop? I am trying to fix it for someone. The little Compact Memory Card was over-full, and part of the OS is eaten. I can't run normal disk clean type utilities, etc even after getting rid of enough files to bring the disk full percent down to about 80% You can let me know off line so as to not get to many OT posts on the list. ... I got an e-mail that our request to reserve MRB-III room 1220 (the room we have been using) was approved, from August 10 meeting through the December 14 meeting. (Note: Most Vanderbilt students will be returning to campus August 21-22.) Much thanks to the Vanderbilt School of Medicine, Educational Support Services for scheduling the room!
