[nlug] Topics for Sept 25th Linux Fest

2010-09-16 Thread Chris McQuistion
As mentioned at the NLUG meeting the other night, it's time to start coming
up with some presentations/topics for the Sept 25th Linux Fest. Several
were mentioned at the event, including the following:

-Comparison of backup programs (Dirvish, BackupPC, CloneZilla) - (Howard
White and I might be doing a session on this)
-Asterisk
-Home File Servers
-using VNC to support Linux
-using VNC to support Windows
-home multimedia network servers/equipment/successes

Would anyone like to add some presentation/topics to that list and would
anyone like to volunteer to do one of those presentations?

I would like to do a complete guide to migrating a domain to Google Apps for
email, calendar, docs, etc. I have a dummy domain ready to go for this and
I've done several domain migrations, so I will go through the entire process
step by step, if anyone is interested (one or two people emailed me about
this.) I will NOT have a slideshow or documentation to distribute, so if
you want to see the whole migration process, you've got to come see it live!

Chris

For Android books, I like Mark Murphy's offering, four Android ebooks
for $40, free updates for a year:
http://commonsware.com/

Google has provided a lot of free Android sample code:
http://developer.android.com/intl/fr/resources/samples/index.html
http://code.google.com/p/apps-for-android/

AndEngine provides a really powerful OpenGL framework:

Classic OpenGL tutorials ported to Android, with free source:
