It might be because DDR3 has been introduced and some fabs are using
capacity to make DDR3, instead of DDR2, so supply hasn't gone up, which is
usually what makes prices go down.

and to top it off, memory densities don't seem to be increasing... at least
not quickly. Is this due to the fact that most people are still on a 32-bit
OS and cannot really take advantage of 4 Gb RAM or is it because 4Gb is
really enough for almost everyone?
