Maceo Parker's name is synonymous with Funky Music.Parker got his start with 
the legendary James Brown and over the years his career has seen him an 
integral part of such luminary Funk icons as Bootsy Collins & Goerge Clinton.
More than a decade and a half after starting a solo career in 1991 Maceo Parker 
has been enjoying a successful run as a headlining musician. For the past 
sixteen years Maceo has been building a new funk empire, fresh and 
stylistically diverse. He navigates deftly between James Brown's 1960's soul 
and George Clinton's 1970's freaky funk while exploring mellower jazz and the 
grooves of hip-hop. 
His collaborations over the years performing or recording or both have included 
Ray Charles, Ani Difranco, James Taylor, De La Soul, Dave Matthews Band and the 
Red Hot Chilli Peppers to name a few. 
March 19th is the chance to see this living legend in concert performing as a 
solo artist.

Thanks for sending - didn't know about the show - will probably go.  
Seen him a few times (including his show in prospect park when prince  
and the band came out for the encore). If you haven't seen him, would  
definitely recommend it.

Also - anyone watch MJs weird press conference at the O2 yesterday.  
Pretty sure you can find it at michaeljackson.com.

I too have mixed feelings about this cd set.  Nobody knows or cares who the
hell Bria is...what I was expecting was a 3 cd set of new prince music.
Actually, what we were told was that prince would release 3 albums this
year.
So I guess that's out with the trash and we're only getting 2 cds and one
from
Bria.
Pretty disappointing and especially disappointing if one of prince's cds
turns
out to be instrumental!  Wow! that would suck!  

We can always hope for a tour right??

It's marketing also. Who would buy an unknown artist without first hearing
at least a couple of tunes on the radio or online somewhere and maybe on a
talk show or video? This way at least the fan base buys her album and get 2
Prince cd's with it. I think Tamars Milk and Honey album could've done
respectable numbers on its own.
