Re: NPNY: Planet Earth...Listen to it.

2007-07-17 Thread ::M::A::Y::A::
I think when you listen to something over and over again, It's not any
better than the first time around. You just warm up to it because you
become accustomed to listening to it.

Imo, a great song is something that moves you on your first listen. If I
have to listen to over and over again and then decide how i feel about it,
then the song isn't doing it's job.

I've listened to it about 3 times already and I'm not feeling it.

It's often hard to digest a new Prince album because you know what he's
capable of and we get these half-baked efforts in 3121 and PE.

I agree, too. It boggles the mind how he keeps shooting himself in the
foot like this. 3121 was wonderful. Musicology was a good album too, both
critically acclaimed. Now, after all these exclusive (read: expensive)
shows and a lot of wonderful press, this album arrives to mediocre reviews
(in the press) at best.

I'll buy it too, maniac that I am. Hopefully one or two of the songs have
the potential to grow on me. Still, sometimes, don't you wonder what this
pretty little man is thinking?

Well Derek,,, Sadly I must say I agree with you. I heard it and will buy it
when it comes out but probably won't put it back in cd player anytime soon. And
that sucks because I LOVED 3121 and thought I had the "old" Prince back.

Wrong: for the record Lovesexy as the follow-up to SOTT was WEAK and a
joke.
There music was light as hell. Only because of nostalgia do we all think it
was great: and only because he toured with that sorry album.

TRC as a religious themed album (albeit more strict or whatever word I cant

2009-08-10 Thread ::M::A::Y::A::
...or maybe he's busy selecting some awesome content to put on the

From: "Oliver, Damon"

Subject: NPNY: Prince moves out leaves 300k behind

Taken from TMZ.com

Only Prince can rent a home for $150,000 a month, leave behind a
security deposit -- and the landlord doesn't know who to give it to.
According to a lawsuit filed in June, when Prince moved out of the home
he rented in Beverly Hills, he left behind a $300,000 security deposit.
3121 Rep Inc., the company that claimed to have brokered the lease for
Prince, has sued the owners to get the money back.

But the owners say Prince made all the payments himself -- 3121 was just
an intermediary -- so the money should go straight to him.

Now the two sides are suing each other, with Prince caught in the middle
-- 3121 wants the money they says is theirs, the owners just want their
attorney's fees paid.

Meanwhile, Prince is probably sitting somewhere composing ballads, with
no idea any of this is going on.
