I'm a graduate student and my final project is about Load balancing in mobile Ad Hoc Networks. For implementing Load balancing, I'm using the idea of multipath routing. Hi all, I am extending the Droptail queue. In that i am intercepting the packets dropped by this queue. then make some processing send the source of this packet the signal to reduce window size. pls tell me how to proceed?? pls help me Thanks regards Mihir

Hi, what OLSR implementation are you using? I've found a similar problem with UM-OLSR NS2 implementation. In high density networks the simulator returned us a Segmentation fault error too. We corrected it changing the next code line of OLSR_pkt.h file: /// Maximum number of addresses advertised on a message. #define OLSR_MAX_ADDRS 64 I've fixed it to a higher value and the problem was solved. hello all , I am facing a problem regarding the ns-2.26.i have created a new packet format and want to implement the new agent in the ns-2.26 to be used in subsequent simulations.for that, i have to modify some file contents and do a 'make depend' before doing 'make'for doing that,i went to the ns-2.26 directory and had executed the command by writing ./make clean ./make depend ./make but on executing each of these commands,its is giving an error stating:cant find make. i am in total darkness regarding this.please help!! -aritra.

Hi I have found the problem: there was evidently a } outside place in a tcl file in ns-2.29/tcl/lib that I had modified. queue to make it work?
I wrote a simple script to testify the simulation mentioned by Ratul. M. in
section 5.2 Fairness of his original red-pd paper, RED-PD: Controlling
High Bandwidth Flows at the Congested Router. The scenario has a congested
link of 10Mbps and 9 TCP flows and 3 UDP flows.
I first implemented the RED version of this simulation, it works well. But
when I switch the queue to RED/PD, and make some corresponding changes as
below, it works (outputs) just like the RED version, why? Need the
$redpdfmon to be configured someway?
I know there are files in ~ns/tcl/ex and ~ns/tcl/test, but those files are
too complex, and just for some additional functions I don't need, I have
been focus on those files for 2 days and only get the 6 configure parameters
for the RED/PD queue, as I had added in the below script.

[ns] 802-11 class !! What does it serve?
Hi, I have the following question: is the class MAC 802-11 in the ns2 package, the basic class that models the IEEE 802.11 standards in NS2 (IEEE802.11b or a)? Meaning if I wanted to work on simualtions of WiFi (IEEE 802.11), is it sufficient to work on the basic NS2 package? Or do I need to download and patch or add some extra modules (contributed code) maybe for a good simulation, and in case I need to do so please refer me to some trustworthy links which implement these standards.
