[NSP] Funeral in Birmingham (UK)

2008-04-09 Thread Julia . Say
Is there anyone who would be prepared to play Amazing Grace on
Northumbrian pipes for a funeral next Tuesday (15 April), or
alternatively record it and send a CD to the enquirer so it can be
played at the service.
Contact details available on request.

Thanks
Julia

I've always assumed that this referred to something I once read
somewhere is called " the Golden Shower" and means exactly what it
says.

Since I've led a fairly sheltered life, I'm unable to elaborate but
possibly Google (used with caution!!) might prove
..er...enlightening.

can we sink any lower than this?

Some from the archives, mainly 18th century -

Gallop and Sh•te
Lasses P*sses Brandy (though it probably means 'boozes')
As She P*ss'd, She Padled It
P*ss Upon the Grass
P*ss and Keep the Hair Dry

Somewhere Bruce Olson (RIP) posted a list of rude tune titles,
scatological and sexual. His explanation of the title Green Sleeves is
an eye-opener.

The reference to the Rolling Stones reminds me of one of my favourite misprints:

"Brian Jones was always something of an enigma even to his closet friends"
