Wolves set up a Worldwide supporters
club<https://www.wolves.co.uk/fans/supporter-clubs/> with a proper employee to
run it, rather than just voluntary. It's run by someone how did this for Villa
and is a Villa fan. It probably has no bearing on it but it's nice to blame
anything that goes wrong on him being a Villa fan. This was set up last year
and invited worldwide fan clubs to apply. The Villa fan's name is Alan Perrin,
so Rog calls his Reggie after Reggie Perrin.

There is a vicar called Jeremy Tonks who has been very active with us and is a
terrific chap. He has registered Bundanoon Wolves as a separate supporters
club. Bundanoon has a population of 2,700 and I suspect he is the only Wolves
fan. However it's up on the Wolves website alongside Berlin Wolves etc. I find
that amusing. We could all register our local towns and have our own club.

A chap called Karl also registered New South Wales Wolves and got accepted. He
got in touch with us and offered to step aside when he 'found out' we existed
but later decided he wouldn't do that and Reggie Perrin also told him not to.
He lives up near Rog about 300 miles from Sydney.

I contacted Reggie and said it was weird that we have a club with 30 members
been going for 30 years and aren't recognised but a 1 member club that started
last year is. He said he couldn't change it and suggested we become 'Sydney
Wolves'. The link above says that clubs should have at least 20 members, so I
don't know where that leaves Karl. I least he gets all of his club members to
give him a hand-shandy in the shower in a morning.

Rog and I spoke about it and decided we didn't want to change the name.

I went back to Reggie and said it seemed heavy handed to tell us what we could
be called, who could run it, and the area we were allowed to cover after 30
years. I'm still waiting for his response, which I suspect won't com

So here we are. Wolves made a mistake by not reaching out to the existing

if not clubs already existed.

Maybe we should go above Reggie's head.

Subject: Re: [Boo! Nuno out!] Hi - introducing myself - I'm a new member!

Wolves set up a Worldwide supporters club
<https://www.wolves.co.uk/fans/supporter-clubs/> with a proper employee to run
it, rather than just voluntary. It's run by someone how did this for Villa and
is a Villa fan.

I went back to Reggie and said it seemed heavy handed to tell us what we could
be called, who could run it, and the area we were allowed to cover after 30
years. I'm still waiting for his response, which I suspect won't come. I copied
Karl in that email and he got the shits about it.

So here we are. Wolves made a mistake by not reaching out to the existing
supporters clubs, for example by using the Mol Mix list and instead started as
if not clubs already existed.

Maybe we should go above Reggie's head.

" inaugural Sawtell meeting." Jeez I'm re-writing history, it must be catching.

Of course Paul has already been here for a Wolves drink.

As have Jim and Jeremy on separate occasions.

Hope I haven't forgotten anybody else and if I have it's the humid weather
sending me troppo.

Yes, I have, no he isn't, and you can meet him at the inaugural Sawtell meeting.

Shouldn't have called Reggie Reggie as the Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin was

Go above Reggie’ head, an email / letter to Laurie Dalrymple would be a good

its because he had all the names put on that big map and there was no

It's incredible he didn't get in touch with the Wolves supporters clubs in the

His order could have come direct from President Pooh Bear in Beijing in which

It really is a ridiculous situation. Who runs the Melbourne Wolves? I might
reach out to them and see if we should make a complaint. The bloke running this
at Wolves is a life-long Villa fan.

No offence to Jeremy but having Wolves recognise Bundanoon Wolves as its own
group with a population of 2,700 but not recognising us is preposterous. How
small and area can a club represent?

Maybe I should put in an application for "Storey Street Maroubra Wolves". It's
a long street with house numbers up to with nearly as many people as Bundanoon.

Haha, I didn't see that about Colin.

He is an arse but seems to get results.

Nuno's reaction in this was brilliant

Agree it felt temporary. I occasionally look down the table at Cardiff and
Huddersfield and think that I know what they'd be talking about:

"We have a couple of easier games coming up and IF we win those and IF
those other teams lose we have a chance of moving to 18th"

LOL

Thanks for that. I already knew the date - 26th Dec 1998. Result was what I
didn’t know. Swindon won 1-0... it was Boxing Day - our first Xmas in the UK -
we had just arrived to live in London for 3 years and had Xmas with my mate and
his wife who lived out in Newbury. Despite the awful start (until last year I
used to describe being a Wolves fan as having chronic depression for 6 months
of the year...) I would rather be a Wolves fan than a Swindon fan! They are
mid-table in League 2!

But despite a pretty rubbish first 18 years - even when we were promoted in the
early and mid 000s it always felt temporary - I would rather be a Wolves fan
today than anything else. The previous struggles makes this season even more
exciting and rewarding.

Re: [Boo! Nuno out!] Hi - introducing myself - I'm a new member!

2019-02-05 Thread Steven Millward
I'm back in April this year too, and hoping to get along for the Brighton
game. There is a former NSWolves member called Elliot who now lives in
London and is coming along so perhaps we can meet up. My mum still lives in
Wall Heath.

Corica last year in a local futsal comp (safe to say they thrashed us!) - but I
think he was surprised that anyone in Australia knew he even played for Wolves!

If you have drag him along on the 30th as we haven't seen him for a while.

Hi Tim,

I’m 51 and a die hard wolves fan. I’ve been following the lads since about
1974. I’ve only just joined myself, so we’re both newbies lol.

Me and my family moved from just outside Wolverhampton in 2009. We live S/W of
Sydney in a small country town called Robertson. It’s in the Southern Highlands
and about halfway between Sydney and Canberra. I last went back in 2013 and was
lucky enough to see us beat Cardiff and Blackburn at home. Me and the wife are
going back Easter this year and I’m hoping to get a ticket for the Brighton
game. Anyway come on me babbies against Shrewsbury in the morning.

Not sure - probably have my son’s basketball game at that time (Saturday
afternoon- is that right?). I will see if I can get along though!

Welcome Tim. As Rog says, hopefully see you on 30 March,

I was talking to Rog about this last night but I thought it worth sharing

Subject: [Boo! Nuno out!] Hi - introducing myself - I'm a new member!

Hi all - just wanted to introduce myself - I found your group through the WW
Wolves fan group (how many members are there?). I'm a Sydney-sider (northern
beaches) who, one cold day just over twenty years ago went to Swindon Town to
see a terrible football match (I think Wolves lost 1-0 or 2-0?). It was wet,
cold, and grey - but somehow I fell in love with Wolves that day (my mate - who
took me - is a Wolves fan and he is from Wolverhampton but now lives in
Canberra). It's great to know there are other Wolves fans in NSW! I only know
of one other fan in Sydney (he works for OilSearch) - but the kit is well
recognised when I wear it! I was down at Dee Why beach in the holidays and a
English guy said that he didn't think he'd travel halfway across the world to
see some Wolves fans - but he did credit me for wearing it! Same day a surf
lifesaver yelled across the beach at me saying that his lot (Tottenham) are
playing my lot overnight. He was pretty confident about the win! I was hoping
to bump into him again next time I was down there ;)

Also I hassled Adidas about bringing the kit into Australia and they "politely
declined" - so my mate picked some up for me and my son when he was over there
in October. After we make Europe they hopefully will try to make the club more
global!

It has been a LONG time since I have seen a match live in person - all the way
back to about 2000 or 2001 - the bad old days when that rough bastard Kevin
Muscat and Steve Corica were playing - shortly after the Robbie Keane era (when
their one strategy was to kick it upfield - in the air - to the very short
striker and get him to score...). Last match I saw live was against West Brom
at Molineux - and I think we lost? Funnily enough I ended up playing against
Corica last year in a local futsal comp (safe to say they thrashed us!) - but I
think he was surprised that anyone in Australia knew he even played for Wolves!

BTW did anyone hear the BBC commentary on the cat from Saturday's game:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/47108649?fbclid=IwAR1QoqLCcTTJnSFK35o9Hd5YzQ47yggs5s77_4mMrd53kSPrlMPkdDvNQwA
 - very funny!

And also just as an FYI, I am a fan of Finerrz vlogs - if you don't know them
check out his latest from Everton - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUGeP7XcFGM
- he does a good job capturing the atmosphere at most games, which is helpful
for people on the other side of the globe!

Anyway - I'll shut-up now. Keep up the banter - I am enjoying it! And hopefully
we can meet in person at some stage - maybe to celebrate the FA Cup victory ;)
