[NSWolves] Frank Munro: a great player in my youth

2011-08-17 Thread Parkes Jim - Sydney-MHA
Former Wolves and Scotland defender Frank Munro has died after suffering a
heart attack at the age of 63. Frank was the most skilful centre-half in the
country and yet he never realised it, said former club team-mate Dave
Wagstaffe. He played the game for fun.

Always sad to see the passing of another one of the greats. I had the
privilege of watching Frank play (alongside the Doog) against Spurs and
Carlisle in 1974. He went alright that lad!

2011-08-17 Thread Paul Crowe
Munro and McAlle were a great partnership for us in the 70’s! Not forgetting
Parkin and Cannock as full back’s.

What I wouldn’t give for another Parkin like fullback for this current team!

Bailey, Sunderland, Hibbit, Wagstaffe, Richards and the Doog. People forget
how good a team this was!!

I’m going for a 3 – 2 for us against Fulham.

Cheers

Paul.
