[NTG-context] 3D MetaPost tool:3DLDF

2005-01-13 Thread Tobias Burnus
Hi,
3DLDF might be interesting to some of you. I have not tested it, but it
seems to use a similar language to MetaPost (but with 3D coordinates)
and generates real MetaPost.

http://www.gnu.org/software/3dldf/
| My primary purpose in writing 3DLDF was to make it possible to use
MetaPost for
| three-dimensional drawing. I've always enjoyed using MetaPost, and
thought it was
| a shame that I could only use it for making two-dimensional drawings.
3DLDF is a
| front-end that operates on three-dimensional data, performs the necessary
| calculations for the projection onto two dimensions, and writes its
output in the form
| of MetaPost code.
|
| While 3DLDF's data types and operations are modelled on those of
Metafont and
| MetaPost, and while the only form of output 3DLDF currently produces
is MetaPost
| code, it is nonetheless not in principle tied to MetaPost. It could be
modified to
| produce PostScript code directly, or output in other formats. It would
also be possible
| to modify 3DLDF so that it could be used for creating graphics
interactively on a
| terminal, by means of an appropriate interface to the computer's
graphics hardware.

Re: [NTG-context] m-letter backslash codes in xml database

2005-01-13 Thread Rob Ermers
Contexers,
That the best way for coding diacritics in the xml database which you
wish to use for your mailing is by using the appropriate iso-latin1 or
unicode number:

 contact num=3 regio=z3 label=`num3'
 address
  pJ. Sch#246;ttelndreher/p
  pJ. Sch#xF6;ttelndreher/p
  pLaan der Drie#235;enheid/p
  pLaan der Drie#xEB;enheid/p

 /address
  /contact
The unicode number (#x..) gives a slightly better result in my pdf.
Output:
J. Schöttelndreher
J. Schöttelndreher
Laan der Drieëenheid
Laan der Drieëenheid
1234 AB Beginhoven
The code is known, of course, but find nevertheless a useful link here:
http://www.i18nguy.com/markup/ncrs.html

If you should want to copy your text back from the pdf, the diacritic
character falls apart: Laan der Drie¨eenheid, but who would?

I suppose other codes can be used as well.
Regards,
Robert Ermers

[NTG-context] Problem with \button

2005-01-13 Thread François Fasoli

I have found the following somewhere in the
documentation.
\button{...}[the chapter on
whatever]\button{...}[otherdoc::some
topic]\button{...}[previouspage]\button{...}[PreviousJump]
I have tried them : all run very well except
\button{...}[otherdoc::some topic]
How can I replace some topic to indicate a chapter
in otherdoc or a page ?
Thank you.

[NTG-context] Re: ConTeXt dont work with fonts after last miktex update

Adam Lindsay schrieb:
The support for this has been built into texfont for the past year (at

Kohler's LCDF Typetools for processing the OpenType fonts.
There's a revised article on this in the upcoming MAPS.
Hi Adam,
thanks for your advice. I found the MAPS at the NTG-Homepage, but it
ends with Nr. 27 in 2002. How can I receive your article to read it? I'm
very interested in because I experimented with the LCDF-tools in the
past, but I wasn't able to combine it with LaTeX or ConTeXt.
