Re: Fwd: [NTG-context] \inmargin, \setupindenting, and overfull boxes
Hi Idris, It's definately a \parindent, but I cannot figure whence it came. Anyway, if you need an immediate fix, the following hack works: \let\normalinmargin\inmargin \def\inmargin#1{{\parindent0pt \normalinmargin{#1}}} Greetings, Taco Idris Samawi Hamid wrote: Hi gang, I sent this about ten days ago; trying again:-) Best Idris --- Forwarded message --- Dear cartel, Here is one for you-) If you uncomment the \setupindenting you will get an overfull hbox; a real nuisance when you have dozens of \inmargin's... Here is my line: \placebookmarks [chapter, section] [chapter] If I change the line to \placebookmarks [chapter, section] [chap] It works as described by Hans above. But I can live with that. My real problem is with bookmarking the table of contents. If I use this configuration: --- \bookmark[chapter]{Contents} \completecontent I get a double bookmark. All other combinations yield no bookmark at all. I tried changing the name from Contents to Contenzz and I got two occurrences of Contentzz in the bookmarks. Messing with the first parameter [chapter] yields either no bookmark or a double bookmark. Also, on the TOC proper, the word Contents (or Contentzz) is repeated twice, in body font, ahead of the bold faced and larger title generated by \completecontent. The documentation on this feature is a bit sparse. I looked at the source but the comments there did not address this situation. -- John Culleton The answers to all your publishing questions are found in the excellent books listed in the word-famous shortlist! http://wexfordpress.com/tex/shortlist.pdf ___ ntg-context mailing list ntg-context@ntg.nl http://www.ntg.nl/mailman/listinfo/ntg-context

Re: [NTG-context] \setupMMLappearance
Duncan Hothersall wrote: Hello MathMLers. I just discovered the very promising \setupMMLappearance command, which looked like it held the answer to one of my most niggling of problems with display MathML processing - the fact that in a tabular layout using I couldn't make the left-hand-side right-aligned, the middle (equals sign) centred and the right-hand-side left-aligned. The default layout has all columns centred. So having looked through the sources I tried \setupMMLappearance[mtable][alternative=b] and to my joy the horizontal alignment seemed to be perfect. But... the vertical spacing seems to have changed as well. There is now just a bit more vertical space between the rows, which throws my existing pagination out of whack, and also looks ugly. I think I reached my limit on understanding the sources, so I wonder if someone could help by telling me if there are any other options for the magical \setupMMLappearance command which might help, or indeed any other fine-tuning commands for MathML layout. One other thing I'd really like to be able to do is have the entire equation aligned on the left rather than centred in the text flow. Is there an option for that? can you prepare a test file? Re: [NTG-context] font encodings
Thomas A.Schmitz wrote: I want to use a custom font encoding (in my case, enco-agr for ancient Greek). I can't set it up for the entire document because it breaks, e.g., the output of accented letters. But when I try to use it for certain parts of the document only, it will insert a line break whenever it is used. So my question: is it possible to switch font encoding in mid-paragraph? no problem, since font encodings are bound to fonts, not paragraphs; however, you need to keep in mind that hyphenation is related to the font encoding as well as the language; when a paragraph is converted to a list, it's known what font is used and the character codes are resolved (i.e. when mixing two font encodings \"e may have resulted in a reference to slot 123 in fontA and slot 231 in fontB which then may give funny hyphenation problems; so, when one language is chose, you may end up with greek hyphenated in for instance the german way when slots match those in the hyphenation patterns); taco may shed more light on what exactly happens when mixing languages paragraphs Hans - Hans Hagen | PRAGMA ADE Ridderstraat 27 | 8061 GH Hasselt | The Netherlands tel: 038 477 53 69 | fax: 038 477 53 74 | www.pragma-ade.com | www.pragma-pod.nl - ___ ntg-context mailing list ntg-context@ntg.nl http://www.ntg.nl/mailman/listinfo/ntg-context

[NTG-context] Using fonts of an existing TeX-Installation
Dear readers of this list, I have a working recent (La)TeX and ConTeXt installation. I have added several commercial PostScript fonts and can use them with (La)TeX. The font files of those fonts are in directories under texmf-local/fonts (afm, tfm, vf, type1), that is, as suggested by TeXFont manual for ConTeXt. However, following the TeXFont manual for ConTeXt, do I have to reinstall them from scratch for ConTeXt starting with the pfb- and afm-files from texmf-local/fonts/source, or can I use the already distributed pfb- and afm-files? Does a reinstallation interfer with the existing font installation for (La)TeX?
