[NTG-context] XY arranging ignores dx/dy
The XY arranging macro basically ignores dx/dy parameters by always padding out the space between "pages". Here's the existing ConTeXt macro for reference - removing \vss and \hss makes it do the right thing (imo). I'd give a simple patch, but I think the ideal behaviour might be to pad if (and only if) dx/dy were not specified, which is starting to push my TeX skills. \def\pusharrangedpageXY#1% {\doglobal\increment\arrangedpageN \reportarrangedpage\arrangedpageN \doglobal\increment\arrangedpageM \global\setbox\arrangedpageB\hbox \ifdim\@@ppwidth>\zeropoint to \@@ppwidth \fi {\ifvoid\arrangedpageB\else \unhbox\arrangedpageB\hss\hskip\@@ppdx\hss \fi \box#1}% \ifnum\arrangedpageM<\arrangedpageX\else \global\setbox\arrangedpageA\vbox \ifdim\@@ppheight>\zeropoint to \@@ppheight \fi {\offinterlineskip \ifvoid\arrangedpageA\else \unvbox\arrangedpageA\vss\vskip\@@ppdy\vss \fi \box\arrangedpageB}% \doglobal\newcounter\arrangedpageM \fi \ifnum\arrangedpageN<\arrangedpageT\else \poparrangedpages \fi} Minimal test, note the dx/dy distances: \definepapersize[label][width=30mm,height=20mm] \setuppapersize[label][A4] \setuppaper[dx=1mm,dy=1mm,nx=2,ny=6] \setuparranging[XY] \showframe[edge] \starttext \dorecurse{6}{test \recurselevel \page} \stoptext -- - Gus ___ ntg-context mailing list ntg-context@ntg.nl http://www.ntg.nl/mailman/listinfo/ntg-context

[NTG-context] What's the easiest way to create numbered captions?
Hello! I've faced a problem briefly discussed before... when the table (natural table) placed using sample below is not split to pages: \placetable[here][mytable1]{Table Caption}{ \bTABLE[split=repeat] \bTR \bTH Header\eTH \eTR \dorecurse{150}{ \bTR \bTD row text \eTD \eTR} \eTABLE } Everything works fine if I do not use \placetable. But I do not have the numbered caption in this case and cannot reference this table in a link. Is there any other simple way to give tables (even not only tables) a caption with number? I almost made it using the numbered labels the like below: \definelabel[tableLable][text=Table,headstyle=boldslanted] \tableLable \em{ Table Caption} \reference[mytable1]{Table Caption} \bTABLE[split=repeat] \bTR \bTH Header\eTH \eTR \dorecurse{150}{ \bTR \bTD row text \eTD \eTR} \eTABLE This way I can have numbered caption where I need, which is almost cool. But the problem is that I cannot create table link with text "Table N.N Table_Caption" \in{Table}[mytable1] gives the link like "Table Table_Caption" and I cannot add number there :( I hope I miss something really obvious, Thanks everyone in advance! -- Regards.Eugene Toporov ___ ntg-context mailing list ntg-context@ntg.nl http://www.ntg.nl/mailman/listinfo/ntg-context

It does work here. Make sure that your file begins like \usemodule[s-pre-22] \starttext \TitlePage{Indeed}{The Title Page} \StartSummary{Alpha}{Title} A simple and not too long text just to show the topic. A simple and not too long text just to show the topic. A simple and not too long text just to show the topic. \StopSummary etc etc and that it finds s-pre-22.tex . I does so here without problems, and I'm sure it should, but if you still get that error message, copy s-pre-22.tex into the same directory as the sample file, and try again. If it works now, you should reinstall ConTeXt at some point to make sure you have a working installation, if it doesn't, you need the help of somebody more knowledgeable... Hi Jessica et al too, I can only support what Upendran wrote. A while ago I asked about presentation styles on this list, and got the hints to look at the source of them. You do not even to write your own style in the beginning, you can just overwrite the definitions to change the settings. I was reluctant to look at source code at first, but it was much simpler and more educational I had imagined.
