[NTG-context] \placeregister[index][compress=yes] BROKEN ??

2008-01-16 Thread Steffen Wolfrum
Hi,

please have a look at following minimal:

\starttext

\placeregister[index][compress=no] \blank[5*big]
\placeregister[index][compress=yes]

\page
test text \index{test index}
\section{heading}
more test text \index{test index}
\section{heading}
more test text \index{test index}
%\page test text% <--- comment / uncomment this line
\page
\section{heading text \index{test index}}
more test text \index{test index}
\page
test text \index{test index}
\section{heading text \index{test index}}
more test text \index{test index}

\stoptext

The "compress=yes" seems to be corrupt.

For me the linux minimals from minimals.contextgarden.net work perfectly
on Ubuntu 7.10. Very easy to install as well.

2008-01-16 Thread Horacio Suarez

Hello

I´ve checked both texmf.cnf and the pool_size value is the same, 125.

I´ve never edited configuration files, I use Context as is.

Tankyou very much.

[NTG-context] Bibliography and luatex

2008-01-16 Thread Jean Magnan de Bornier
Hi all,

Using luatex from the minimals at minimals.contextgarden.net (linux), I am
unable to have bibtex working: here is a minimal example:
..
\usemodule[bib]
\usemodule[bibltx]
\setupbibtex [database=/home/jean/BIB/biblio.bib]
 \setuppublications[]
\setuppublicationlist[]
\setupcite[]
\starttext
Bonjour de luatex!
\blank
LUA  \cite[year][destv]
\startlua
a = 1.5
b = 1.8
c = a*b
tex.print(c)
\stoplua
\completepublications[criterium=all]
\stoptext
..

I see this in the messages:

"publications : warning: cite argument destv is unknown on 139"

pdftex and xetex engines find it without problem.

What did I miss?

I have successfully used the bib module with luatex, but I had to run

[NTG-context] shading in metapost

2008-01-16 Thread Thomas A. Schmitz

Hi all,

I have a somewhat silly question about metapost/metafun. To emphasize
parts of a picture, I place a bright red arrow or circle/ellipse on
top of the picture. I would like to make this arrow more visible by
putting a shade beneath it (I attach a jpg that will hopefully show
the desired effect). Right now, I simply draw the arrow twice with a
transparent black color, once with a smaller pencircle, so the effect
is like a shadow that is darker in the center than at the edges.
However, I think the effect would be more dramatic if I could have a
transparent area with a smooth grading. Is this possible at all in
metapost? filling a path with a transparent AND shaded color?

All best

Thomas

There is some information on doing transparencies in
METAPOST at http://www-math.univ-poitiers.fr/~phan/metalpha.html

Using the code at the above link you should be able to produce
the effect in your jpeg.

Well thanks! I did it but still the same; besides I saw this in the blg
file:
This is BibTeX, Version 0.99c (Web2C 7.5.6)
The top-level auxiliary file: taist.aux
I couldn't open style file cont-no.bst

but this file is there and readable by any user!?!

Yes ...

   --luatex, not --lutex

typos on texexec's command line are silently ignored, and mkii is
still the default, so texexec runs pdftex instead of luatex.

Notice MKII here. This means MKII is running.

Did you actually type --lutex (the correct option is --luatex or simply
--lua)?
